Mary Ann ONYSCHTSCHUK

The family of Mary Ann sadly share the news of her passing at West Coast General Hospital on Saturday, February 10, 2024.

Mary leaves behind to forever miss her, her sons, Paul Jr (Margaret), Roy (Dawn), and Peter (Roberta); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Roy Beaumont; as well as many extended family members and friends.  She was predeceased by her son, Bernhard and her former spouse, Paul Onyschtschuk Sr.

Born in Valley View, Alberta Mary was adopted at a very young age by the Beaumont family who lived in Port Alberni.  Later in life, Mary successfully searched for members of her birth family in Alberta and was able to connect with many of them.

Mary filled her days with her quilting, adding to her collection of bear figures, tending to her cats who were her fur babies, and taking troubled children and youth of the community under her wing.  She will be remembered for her caring of others and her love of God.

The family would like to thank the staff at West Coast General Hospital for the compassionate care and support they showed Mary during her stay with them.  In lieu of flowers those wishing to honour her memory may do so by making a donation to the SPCA in her name. 

A tea will be held in Mary's honour at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at the Alberni Valley Christian Reform Church Hall at 5033 Roger Street in Port Alberni.
