Ulla Irene ANDERSEN

Ulla Andersen, a long-time resident of Parksville, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2018 at the age of 86. 

Ulla was born in Esbjerg, Denmark in 1932. She married Andy (deceased 2007) in 1956, immigrated to Canada in 1957, and moved to the Parksville area in 1969. Ulla was the loving mother of Irene (Mike) and Jim, dedicated grandmother to Nicole (Andy), Ross, Cheryl (James), Laura, and step-grandchildren Michael, Matthew, and Emma. She adored her three beautiful great granddaughters. She also leaves behind 2 nieces here in Canada and her family in Denmark.

Ulla was a founding, charter, and Life member of the Parksville Lioness Club and was an active member for over 30 years. She was an active volunteer since 1975 and she cherished the long standing friendships with Lions and Lioness members, and others in the community.  Ulla was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Parksville Legion.

Ulla loved her family, extended family, and friends above all and dedicated her life to them.  She was always willing to help anyone in any way she could. She taught us so very much.

The family would like to thank the staff of Eagleview at Stanford Seniors Village from the bottom of our hearts for their exemplary care, dedication, and love to Ulla right up to the time of her passing. 

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday August 26, 2018 at Yates Memorial Services (1000 Allsbrook Road), followed by a social gathering at the Parksville Lions Den (241A Moilliet Street).
